Ms. Hallberg brings a combination of writing and environmental education experience to the Center. Her most recent position was as a Web content writer at North Carolina's statewide public television station, UNC-TV.
The Center looks forward to refreshing communication with the Center's collaborative partners, including the other regional IPM centers.
"We're glad to have someone on board who will get our communications back on track and prepare us for what's coming up in the future," said Center director, Jim VanKirk.
Ms. Hallberg will be re-establishing the news portion of the Web site as well as reinstating Southern Exposure, the Center's newsletter. In addition, she will be taking the lead on a strategic communications plan and tightening collaborations with the other regional IPM centers.
"One of my main priorities will be to create publications that are useful to those we work with," said Hallberg. "I'm looking forward to getting the word out about how IPM is working in the southern states."
