'Emerald Ash Borer, an Eradication' will highlight the fortuitous detection of Emerald Ash Borer in a Maryland nursery and the steps implemented to eradicate this recent scourge.
Biography:
Dick Bean is an Entomologist and serves as the Maryland State Survey Coordinator for CAPS and the Survey Coordinator for Maryland Department of Agriculture Plant Protection & Weed Management Section. He also supervises the Apiary Inspection Program and the Survey & Detection Program for the State of Maryland. Dick has worked on the staff at the University of Maryland as a Faculty Extension Assistant in the IPM program training field scouts and maintaining the black light and pheromone trap survey program and is the chairman of the CAPS Eastern Pest Survey Committee.
