Abstract:
Halyomorpha halys, (Hemiptera:Pentatomidae), the Brown Marmorated Stink Bug, was detected in 2001 in Allentown, PA. Patchy populations had established on ornamentals and were limited to suburban landscaped habitats. Over sixty host plants were observed; agricultural risk status was confirmed in gardens and on fruit trees. Adults are a major nuisance pest when overwintering in homes and the nuisance publicity may have distracted from the potential agricultural risk.
